 Child Labor is a phenomenon which is talked about across the globe. There are laws passed against this issue but still companies whether an international or national conducts child Labor. It is an offensive act which symbolizes misdeed of humanity. When children are forced to work, their childhood is destroyed, as the time when they should learn and grow they have to work harder either under their parents force or to earn livelihood. They are often functioning under poor working conditions at clumsy places. As they are children, so factory owners in India take advantage of this and keep them unaware of their rights and make them work more than their efficiency.
There can be seen many cases where children have been beaten brutally if any mistake occurs. The age in which they are supposed to play and enjoy are forced to work under extreme conditions. The reason industries prefer children as their main part of work force is that they are ready to work at minimum wages and thus can tolerate any kind of behavior of their boss.
Past records show that child labor is mostly occupied by Carpet industries. Working with huge looms, and needles for weaving often hurt them but still they work to earn their livelihood. They are suffered with health problems and are not provided proper amenities as employers.
Saraswati Global Ltd. has taken initiative to eradicate Child Labor and we always make sure that workers who are engage in our carpet making does not involve their kids in the same work. As per the workers they oft en follow a tradition that they pass on their work to their kids, so we guide our every worker to keep their child away from this work and give them proper education which will enable them to grow with healthy minds.
We here at SGL ensure that there is no such activity conducted which involves child labor. We take proper actions for such cases and always keep the social welfare in our mind while running our business. We teach carpet weaving to the women who are in need of work and ask for their involvement in carpet industry, but not their kids.
