Mahesh K. Choudhary

OUR STORY

A LEGACY, WOVEN FORWARD.

Some stories are built over years.
Ours has been woven, one knot at a time.

In 1978, in Rajasthan, Mahesh K. Choudhary began with
a simple belief: that the beauty and skill of Indian rug making deserved
to be seen by the world.

What began with a few looms became a lifelong pursuit—to build
a business around craftsmanship, create opportunities for the people behind it,
and carry the art of rug making into the future.

Nearly five decades later, that belief continues to shape Saraswati Global

IT STARTED WITH A BELIEF

Before there was a global business,
there was a deep respect for the craft.

Mahesh's journey began with rugs, but quickly became about
understanding everything that went into making them.

He spent years working closely with weavers and communities,
learning the patience, skill and discipline behind a handmade rug.

In 1985, he moved to the tribal regions of
Gujarat to develop hand-knotted carpet production.

Those early years shaped the way Saraswati Global would grow—
with an appreciation for the craft and the people who make it.

Raj Choudhary

TWO GENERATIONS.

ONE JOURNEY

In 2011,
Raj Choudhary joined his father

He came into a business with an established foundation,
but also into a world that was changing quickly. Design was evolving,
customers were becoming more global, and technology was opening up new possibilities.

Raj brought a different perspective shaped by international markets,
design and a new generation of consumers.

Together, two generations began shaping the next chapter of Saraswati Global—
not by replacing what came before, but by building on it.

BUILDING THE
FOUNDATION

As the business grew, Mahesh expanded manufacturing in Jaipur and entered international markets. A dyeing
and spinning plant followed in 1999, AMER Rugs launched in 2001 for the American market, and Saraswati
Exports became Saraswati Global in 2007. Despite its growth, the company remained deeply connected to
craftsmanship.

CRAFT, ALWAYS

Since 1978, the world has changed, but our respect for
craftsmanship remains constant. Today, Saraswati Global
combines traditional rug-making techniques with
contemporary design, modern capabilities and a global
perspective. Our artisans preserve generations-old skills
while designers explore new materials, patterns and
textures, creating a balance between heritage and
innovation.

Crafting

THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE RUGS

Artisans

Behind every rug are skilled artisans, weavers, designers and craftspeople whose knowledge and
patience bring each piece to life. Their generations-old craftsmanship is central to our story. We
are committed to preserving this knowledge, supporting our artisan community and creating
opportunities that ensure traditional skills continue to shape our future.

A WIDER WORLD.

Today, Saraswati Global connects artisans, looms, manufacturing and design teams
to create rug collections for global markets and diverse lifestyles.

Room Setting

WHERE WE ARE

TODAY

Saraswati Global has grown into a
global rug house, but we remain closely
connected to where the journey began.

We work across hand-knotted,
hand-loomed, hand-tufted, hand-hooked
and powerloom rugs, bringing together
traditional craftsmanship and
contemporary design.

Alongside our collections, we continue
to develop bespoke capabilities and
work with designers, architects, retailers
and partners around the world.

We are also looking at what it means
for a business like ours to create value
beyond its products, through initiatives
such as the Saraswati Global Foundation
and the Niwala Collection.

THE NEXT

CHAPTER

Nearly five decades after the first
looms, there is still much to build.

The design world continues to change.
New materials and techniques are
emerging. New generations are
discovering handmade rugs in
different ways.

We want to keep evolving with them,
while holding on to the things that
have always mattered to us—
craftsmanship, people, curiosity and
the belief that a well-made rug can
become part of a home for
generations.

Our story is still being woven.
And the next chapter is already
underway.
